Development of small molecules targeting Homeobox family of proteins
Homeobox proteins are a large family of transcription factors (TFs) that contain a highly conserved DNA-binding domain of 60 amino acids known as the homeodomain.
Because homeobox genes have so many important functions, mutations in these genes are responsible for a variety of developmental disorders. Additionally, increased or decreased activity of certain homeobox genes has been associated with several forms of cancer later in life.
Given our expertise in targeting MEIS Homeodomain, we have extended our small molecule development program to Homeodomain containing proteins and initiated HOXi program. HOXi program aims to develop small molecules targeting Homeobox family of proteins.
